Found this hidden gem just outside of my city yesterday. I cannot believe I have never seen this wonderful place before! The tall grass and trees, everything is so beautiful. Today was gloomy and foggy, which made the scene even more enchanting. I was riding my bike as I normally do for a sport, but I just had to stop and take a picture. I am so glad I did though!
The forest has always been close to my heart. There is something about the tall and strong tree trunks. The ever-changing seasons and their mark on the leaves and treetops. The life in the forest from the chirping birds. I find the forest to be very enchanting. This is my true home.
Today I left the comfort of my bed, even though I was not feeling very good, grabbed my camera, and biked to the fiord to watch the sunset. The sun started its way down much earlier than a week ago, and I have started to feel the darkness taking over. But that is okay, since I do like the dark season too. During autumn, I live for the gloomy days. Today was gloomy and today was nice. I actually felt better after having watched the sunset. Sometimes I need to get my thoughts cleared, and the best way for me to do that, is get out of the house and surround myself with silence and beauty. Alone. I love this.
Pictures taken in the garden with my new lens. I love this lens so much, the low f. number allows lots of sunlight into the picture, creating a “bokeh” effect in the background. I have wanted to buy this lens for soooo long now, and now it is finally here! I am one happy girl hahah.
October is perhaps my favourite month of the year. Somany colors! Gloomy skies with golden sunsets. Falling leaves, warm tea, and sweaters. All of my favourite things! Something I really love is to look out of the train window during autumn, and just watch nature pass by. This makes me feel connected to my surroundings, and leaves me relaxed during stressful periods of life. Yesterday I went on a much needed walk around my neighborhood. I was is awe, almost every tree looked as if it was on fire. Luckily I had brought my camera, so no problem there. The shot above is taken yesterday, and I just really love the colors. October leaves (pun intended) me so happy every year!
If there is one thing I love, then it is Asian food! Anything from Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Indonesian, Thai, you name it. I don’t know why, but I think it must be a mix of all the herbs and spices in these dishes. This, and the fact that I get a feeling of nostalgia when eating the foods. When I was 4 to 5 years old I lived in Singapore, and I used to eat a lot of Asian food, especially chinese soups. The soup on the above picture is from the Wagamama restaurant near the central station in Copenhagen. I ate here with my sister and aunt before going to the movies. Such a great soup! I can’t remember the name, but it was the vegetarian option with mushrooms. Since I am a vegan, I simply asked for a vegan option with wholegrain noodles instead of egg noodles. This was not a problem, and the waiter was very open towards dietary differences. I really recommend this restaurant, great atmosphere and affordable foods that makes you satiated and satisfied!
Amsterdam truly is enchanting. The old streets are like taken out of a faitytale I have always wanted to read. I love this city, everything from the endless canals and their bridges, to the house facades from centuries ago. I can only imagine what it would look like to step onto the streets in the falling snow on a december morning. Guess I have to try that sometime! I will most definitely be back.
In this moment I am packing . Tomorrow I will be heading to Amsterdam and I am beyond excited! I have never been there before, but have always wanted to go. Well, tomorrow is the day! My plane will board quite early, so I will have a lot of sparetime once arriving. I won’t be home til late thursday, and i probably won’t be able to blog when in Amsterdam. But loads of pictures will be taken, and I cannot wait to share them!
